Chad McDade

Restoration Technician

I have always loved antique cars for as long as I can remember, so I have always surrounded myself with them.  One of my earlies influences was a neighbor that had a restoration shop, mainly specializing in Oldsmobiles.  I was regularly exposed to a large variety of antique cars and that set me on the path I have been on.  I graduated from trade school in 1989 and set off to work, only to realize that I have no interest in 1980’s cars, so I got a job at an antique motorcycle shop and accumulated a huge amount of experience with motorcycles from all time periods and all parts of the world.  This eventually led me to open my own motorcycle shop, but a combination of bad timing and being unable to compete with internet pricing put an end to that.  It was at this point that I switched back to antique cars, starting with a private collection.  After that I worked at some of the best shops in the area restoring cars, and now I work for Bob Lederer.  With my background, I was able to seamlessly integrate into Bob’s team.  In my free time, I still maintain a few private collections of both cars and motorcycles, and I continue to learn something new and interesting every single day.
